What to eat with a poorly tummy

I am no expert on this kind of thing but I have recently been dealing with a bug, giving me an upset tummy and have therefore learned what helps and what doesn't. Here are some tips.

1. Bananas
Bananas are not only yummy, and easy to snack on, they are perfect when you need food when you are ill. They contain potassium and electrolytes which help to restore energy while helping with dehydration.

2. Plain Toast
Whenever I am ill, toast is my go-to food. I always have bread in the house, whether it is fresh or frozen, and toasted, it makes a perfect plain snack which doens't aggravate any tummy problems. Just try not to have it with jam or butter, and the fats and sugar in these can make the problem worse.

3. Soup
Soup helps everything. As long as you avoid any creamy or spicy versions, the nutrients in soup can help restore what your body has lost, and you can always team it with some plain toast to make a little more filling.

4. Rice
I know plain rice can be boring, but it easy for your body to digest and can absorb any baddies in the stomach.

5. Water
The main thing when you are ill is to flush any toxins out of the body, and to make sure the body stays hydrated and the best way to do this is by drinking plenty of water.

The main things I have learned to avoid is any kind of dairy product, caffeine or anything which can normally bloat you, such as broccoli, beans and eggs.
I know it isn't much fun being ill, and only having bland food can make it seem worse, but in the long run, it will help you get better and avoid any sore tummys.

What do you normally eat? Do you have your own remedies?
