Lent...Let's take something up Week 1

I am not one to deny myself of food that I love, so I have started to take things up each year. For the past few years I have taken up eating my five a day, and this worked really well. I feel I so this quite often, but the occasional treat day means the veggie get left behind. So I have decided to do the same this year, but to try and document what I have eaten in terms of fruit and veg. I realise that sometimes it look like I have more than my overall total, but the portions were not always a whole serving. So here is this weeks worth of healthy food.

Wednesday
Breakfast - banana (1)
Snack - Pear (1), dried fruit
Lunch - cucumber (0.5), celery(0.5), broccoli (1) and a handful of spinach (0.5)
Dinner - Broccoli (1), Carrot mash (0.5), leek (0.5)

Overall: 6.5

Thursday
Breakfast - banana (1)
Snack - Apple (1)
Lunch - sundried tomatoes (0.5),  olives (0.5), handful spinach (0.5), stalk of celery (0.5), cucumber (0.5)
Dinner - Celery (0.5), broccoli (0.5)

Overall: 5.5

Friday
Breakfast- Strawberries (1), Banana (1)
Lunch - Broccoli (0.5), celery (0.5), cucumber (0.5), spinach (0.5)
Snack - Dried cranberries (0.5), Apple (1), Olives (0.5)

Overall:6

Saturday
Breakfast - Banana(1)
Snack - Pear (1)
Lunch - Cucumber (0.5), Spinach (0.5)
Dinner - Tinned tomatoes (0.5), onion (0.5), carrot (0.5), broccoli (1)

Overall: 5.5

Sunday
Breakfast - Banana(1)
Snack - Cranberries (0.5), Dates (0.5)
Lunch- Cucumber (0.5), Spinach (0,5)
Dinner - Spinach (0.5), Broccoli (0.5), Carrot (0.5), Cucumber (0.5)

Overall: 5

Monday
Breakfast- Strawberries (0.5) Blackberries (0.5) Banana (1)
Snack - Apple (1)
Lunch- Spinach (0.5) Cucumber (0.5)
Dinner - Sweet Potato (1) Tinned tomatoes (0.25) Carrot (0.25) Spinach (0.5)

Overall: 6

Tuesday
Breakfast- Blackberries (1) Banana (1)
Lunch - Sweet Potato (0.5) Sweetcorn (0.5) Spinach (0.5) Cucumber (0.5)
Dinner - Celery (0.5), Red Pepper (0.5), Carrot (1), Tomatoes (1)

Overall: 7

This week has gone well, and it is definitely make me think of ways to get more veggie into my diet. What are you doing for lent?
