WIAW 21 Food on the go


I had a great weekend at the Foodies Festival and enjoyed trying lots of different foods so it was a bit sad when I got back home and looked in the cupboards. I had a doctors appointment and had to travel through my lunchbreak to get to it, so had to have very portable and not too smelly food. This is what I ate.
Breakfast started out the same way as normal with peanut butter and banana on toast.
Just before I left for the station I had an apple in hope that would keep me going until I manage to eat my lunch.
My lunch was eaten on the train and was a cheese spinach and salad cream sandwich. This didn't smell so was suitable train food, but the cheese was quite crumbly and kept falling out. I find I do get some strange looks when I unpack a lunchbox as if making your own food is a strange thing to do!
I was at the doctors for such as long time so I missed my afternoon snack and was starving by the time I got home. I made a Courgette and Tomato linguine which was delicious! Recipe can be found here.
I was a little peckish later in the evening as I had eaten dinner a little earlier than normal so I snacked on a nut and dried fruit pack. This kept me nice and full. I love the pre-packaged fruit and nut as it is the perfect portion size and doesn't make me keep going for more!
My meals felt really mixed up today with eating on the move and missing my normal snack time, they were all pretty tasty still. It made me realise just how much I enjoy a food routine and how badly my stomach reacts if it isn't fed at the right time!
