Review Giovanni Rana Chicken Ravioli

When visiting the Foodies Festival recently, I was given a voucher for money off Giovanni Rana products. I had tried some of their new releases at the event and really enjoyed it so was happy to try some other varieties. When I popped into Morrisons, I found their brand of fresh pasta on offer for £1, making it 50p with the voucher. I chose a chicken and mozzarella with smoked pancetta, and I thought this was an unusual flavour to have in Ravioli.
'Giovanni Rana has been making pasta for over 50 years. His philosophy is simple: be true to yourself and the things that make you happy. He learned that as a boy in the family kitchen in Veronella and he still believes that today. For him, perfect pasta comes from a passion for food and the joy of sharing that passion with the people you love.'
The pasta seemed quite flat in the packaging, but when it was cooking, it seemed to puff up.
Being a massive fan of my veggies, I teamed the pasta with peas, broccoli and make a tomato and white wine sauce. I wanted something quite basic to enable me to still taste the pasta filling.
If you were to serve this without anything else, it serves two people quite comfortably, but would recommend a side if you are quite hungry. I managed to have a little left over for my lunch as well!
If you are after a quick dinner, then this is perfect. Only taking 3-4 minutes to cook it makes a speedy supper. It wasn't as salty as some other brands I have tried, but I would say I personally prefer other fillings. I wouldn't hesitate on trying other flavours as the pasta and filling itself were of good quality and my boyfriend soon gobbled his portion up!
