WIAW 33 Recovering
This weekend, I had another annoying illness which meant I lost my appetite for a couple of days and wasn't able to enjoy my food. The most annoying thing was that I was at my parents, who have large stashes of delicious treats that I wasn't up for! Luckily by the time Monday came around, I was feeling myself again and my stomach didn't cramp when I fed it.
I had missed my normal breakfast being ill, so was pleased to eat my banana and peanut butter on a bagel again. I was getting to the end of this jar of peanut butter, and it felt like all the chunks had fell to the bottom!
Just before I went for a walk in my lunchbreak, I had a snack of an apple.
After my walk, I was feeling quite hungry so had a pitta bread with red pesto, chorizo, spinach and tomatoes with a side of my summer favourite - fresh peas.
My afternoon snack was a bowl of pineapple (found reduced from Tesco for 40p) with some blueberries.
Dinner was a homemade courgette and bacon soup with some of my mum's homemade cheese scones. You can find the recipe here.
I felt like I had a day of healthy food, which I think is important to replenish everything that has been lost while ill. I have been left with a bit of a cold and soup was the perfect way to finish off my food for the day.
What do you enjoy eating after being poorly?
