Giovanni Rana Indulgence Cream with Hand Picked Porcini Mushroom sauce recipe

Giovanni Rana challenged me to create recipes using their new sauce range without turning to the classic pasta. I must say I was worried about trying the mushroom as it is a flavour I don't like. Luckily I found someone who enjoys mushrooms sauces and were happy to take on the challenge themselves. They created a vegetarian mushroom bake topped with a cheese and bread crumb.

Mushroom Bake
Method
1. Chop onions, aubergine and mushrooms and fry until tender.
2. Add a teaspoon of paprika and mix (this may come out quite spicy so reduce to your taste)
3. Combine the mushroom sauce and heat through
4. Place into oven proof dish and top with a breadcrumb and grated cheese mixture.
5. Bake in oven until crispy and golden.

This was a great way of using the pasta sauce to create a rich and creamy vegetarian dinner and the textural difference between the breadcrumbs and the sauce worked really well. Other ways which you could use this sauce include pouring over pork and grilling in portobello mushrooms.
