Monty Bojangles Apricot, Apple and Truffle Christmas Crumble

Monty Bojangles gave me the opportunity to try out some crowd-pleasing recipes that would be perfect for a Christmas party using a box of their truffles. This Christmas crumble is an interesting twist on the classic apple crumble that is a favourite in every household. The addition of apricot and the chocolate gives a sweet twist which I enjoyed, but did find it a little odd to have the flavour of chocolate with the apples. If you have a sweet tooth and a passion for chocolate, then as well as popping a few of these delicious truffles into your mouth, try adding them to a crumble and see what you think.

For the topping:
175g plain flour
125g cold butter
100g caster sugar
60g rolled oats
For the filling:
8 dessert apples, peeled, cored and diced
1 orange, peeled and diced
100g dried apricots, roughly chopped
100g Monty Bojangles Choccy Scoffy Cocoa Dusted Truffles, roughly chopped.

- Preheat the oven to 150°C/ 300°F/Gas Mark 2.
- To make the topping, rub the ingredients together in a large bowl with your hands until rough crumbs form. Put the topping in the fridge until you are ready to use it.
- For the filling, mix all the ingredients together and place in an ovenproof dish.
- Top with the crumble mixture and bake in the oven for 45 minutes.
Disclaimer: Monty Bojangles supplied the recipe and chocolate that went into this post, but opinions are my own
