Christmas Food 2015

Christmas day is always a spectacle with family and gifts. My favourite part in the lead up to Christmas is visiting markets and shops in London which produce food perfect for the festive celebrations. We like to include vegetables in our main turkey dinner that we wouldn't normally have, including some different coloured carrots and purple sprouts.
We have all the trimmings including sage and onion stuffing, pigs in blankets (and also cheese in blankets this year). Last year we tried a turkey gravy, but we went back to the favourite of beef this year which adds some great flavour.
Boxing day wouldn't be the same without finding a way to use leftovers for another family get together. I always make pastry parcels with leftover meats and cheese which go down a treat. This year I made leek and cheese bites, Brie, bacon and cranberry filo parcels and stilton and turkey parcels. We also make a quiche lorraine and cooked off some potatoes for a heartier dinner.
And of course, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without boxes of chocolate scattered all over the house. Hope you had a Merry Christmas, and wishing you a great new year.
