Knorr Recipe Ideas

Around Christmas time, I often find myself with lots of things in the fridge that I need to use up before heading home for the Christmas period. A great way to use up vegetables that are delicious and warming, is by including stock to add a base flavour. Knorr have a great range of stocks which can help you create quick and easy dishes, that can either be eaten for the big event, or around Christmas to use up some leftover things hanging around in the fridge or freezer. Here are some of the dishes I enjoyed.

Celeriac and Cauliflower Soup
Pre-cooked vegetables leftover from Christmas can be created into a simple and quick, yet tasty soup.I had some cauliflower and celeriac to use up as well as some limp celery and came up with a soup that was delicious.
Ingredients
1/4 head of large roasted cauliflower
Celery stick
1/4 cooked celeriac
Chicken stock cube (I used Knorr)
Pine nuts to top.

Place all cooked ingredients into a blender with a stock cube and hot water. Blend until smooth and top with some toasted pine nuts.
I am a massive garlic lover, so these stock pots were perfect for me. I put them with some potato to make a delicious garlic mash to accompany sausages.

Garlic Mash
Cooked Potato
Butter
Milk
Garlic Flavour Pot
Method
 Mash the potato with a little milk and a knob of butter.
Stir through the garlic pot to create a deliciously smooth mash.
My last dish is perfect for those Christmas leftovers. By combining some sweet chilli sauce with the Touch of Taste Beef stock, you can use up those leftover meat pieces and last of the vegetables to make a quick and easy dinner dish.

Ingredients
Leftover Meat (I had chicken)
Noodles
Sliced Onion
Chopped Pepper
Julienned Carrots
Diced Celery
Any other wilting veg
Knorr Touch of Taste Beef Stock
Method
Place the onion in the pan and fry for a couple of minutes.
Add the rest of the vegetables and already cooked meat.
Add the noodles then splash with a little of the Beef Stock.
Cook until warmed through an enjoy with a little sweet chilli sauce on the side.

Some other ideas
Beef stock is an ingredient that you always find goes into a great casserole. It gives flavour to leftover ingredients or wilting vegetables and brings a new dimension to them. It worked really well with mince and leftover baked beans casserole which is perfect for the winter months.
